Our trekking in Nepal expedition is ideal for those who want to visit this amazing country over a short period of time. Nepal is a land of sublime scenery, temples and some of the best adventure sport in the World. This expedition including five days of trekking is ideal for those who enjoy a challenge and want to experience Nepali culture.

This route is relatively unknown allowing us to experience some of the renowned Nepali hospitality untouched by mass tourism. We will meet plenty of friendly people on the route and stop to visit several Sherpa villages, bazaars and Buddhist monasteries. Trekkers are guaranteed to come away with a great appreciation of the Sherpa way of life, their mountain culture and traditions.

The scenery is truly breathtaking with mixed forest, flower filled meadows, rivers and spectacular mountain vistas throughout. The highlight of the expedition is our ascent of Pike Peak (4070m). We will rise early to watch the sun rise and gradually touch a wide panorama of more than 100 Himalayan giants including Makalu (8481m), Lhotse (8516m) and Mt Everest (8848m).

To round off an unforgettable trip our last day will be spent white-water rafting on the Sun Kosi “River of Gold” and sightseeing in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu.

Day 1: Depart Dublin.
Depart Dublin for Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu to the River Camp, 2 hrs driving.
Arrive in Kathmandu and drive to our camp on the banks of the Sun Kosi River. Overnight camp.

Day 3: River Camp to Shivalaya to Dewrali (2730m), 3 hrs trekking.
Drive to Shivalaya and then trek to Dewrali. Overnight camp.

Day 4: Dewrali to Kapti (2400m), 8 hrs trekking.
Trek from Dewrali to Kapit. Overnight camp.

Day 5: Kapti to Nguar (3420m), 6 hrs trekking.
Trek from Kapti to Nguar. Overnight camp.

Day 6: Nguar to Pike Peak (4070m) to the Kinja Valley, 8 hrs trekking.
Trek from Nguar to Pike Peak and then descend to our campsite in the Kinja valley.

Day 7: Kinja to Dewrali (2730m), 7 hrs trekking.
Trek from the Kinja valley to Dewrali. Overnight camp.

Day 8: Dewrali to the River Camp, 6 hrs driving.
Drive back to the river camp and enjoy a expedition celebration Nepali style! Overnight camp.

Day 9: Morning rafting, afternoon sightseeing and evening depart Kathmandu, 2 hrs rafting.
In the morning go rafting and then drive back to Kathmandu. Enjoy some sightseeing before transferring to the airport in the evening. Overnight flight.

Day 10: Arrive in Dublin.
Arrive back in Dublin.

Temperatures vary from 10°C to 30°C during the day and -5°C to 10°C at night. It’s best to be prepared for lower temperatures due to wind chill or the weather turning bad. Usually the days are hot and the nights are cold. You should be ready for inclement weather in any case as the weather changes rather quickly, especially at high altitude. Visa Requirements
At time of writing, EU passport holders were able to obtain a tourist visa upon arrival in Nepal. The visa fee is USD$40 and you need to carry two passport photos with you for the tourist visa.

Electric Supply & Plugs
230v, 50Hz. A variety of electrical plugs are found throughout Nepal, so an all-around adaptor plug set is recommended. Type D is most common. Some hotels have desks and workstations which accept a variety of plug types. But no matter what type of plug, voltage in India is 230V, 50 Hz.
