This 12 day expedition includes six days of trekking in the Indian Himalayas in warm weather with amazing scenery. Each day offers a new and exciting route as we pass by some beautiful hamlets, flower-filled pastures, mixed forest, waterfalls and streams. The highlight of the trek is reaching the Kuari Pass (3840m) where you are rewarded by an impressive panoramic view. Your eyes will be drawn to the sweeping arc created by the incredible line-up of giant peaks: Chaukhamba (7140m), Nilkantha (6597m), Kamet (7756m), Gauri Parbat (6727m), Nanda Devi (7817m), Bethartoli (6352m) and Dunagiri (7066m).

The region is one of the most culturally significant in India. We trek near the source of the Ganges which is one of the world’s most famous rivers with huge religious and cultural significance in India. Meet plenty of friendly locals and learn about the Himalayan culture and way of life. As well as enjoying six fantastic days trekking you will have the opportunity go white-water rafting and explore Delhi.

Day 1: Dublin to Delhi.
Depart Dublin on an overnight flight to Delhi.

Day 2: In Delhi.
Arrive in Delhi. Rest for the day or go sightseeing & shopping.

Day 3: Delhi to Rishikesh (330m), 2 hrs rafting.
Morning train to Rishikesh, afternoon optional rafting on the Ganges river.

Day 4: Rishikesh to Ghat (1330m).
Drive from Rishikesh to Ghat.

Day 5: Ghat to Ghunni (2550m), 6 hrs trekking.
Trek from Ghat to Ghunni.

Day 6: Ghunni to Sem Kharak (2400m), 6 hrs trekking.
Trek from Ghunni to Sem Kharak.

Day 7: Sem Kharak to Pana (2450m), 5 hrs trekking.
Trek from Sem Kharak to Pana.

Day 8: Pana to Dhakwani (3341m), 6 hrs trekking.
Trek from Pana to Dhakwani.

Day 9: Dhakwani to Kuari Pass (3840 m) to Khulara (3180 m): 5 hrs trekking.
Trek from Dhakwani over the Kuari Pass to reach Khulara.

Day 10: Khulara to Pipalkoti (1330m): 5 hrs trekking.
Trek to Tapovan and then drive to Pipalkoti.

Day 11: Pipalkoti to Delhi.
Drive to Haridwar and then catch the train to Delhi.

Day 12: Delhi to Dublin.
Fly Delhi to Dublin.

Climate

Electric Supply & Plugs
230v, 50Hz. A variety of electrical plugs are found throughout India, so an all-around adaptor plug set is recommended. Type D is most common. Some hotels have desks and workstations which accept a variety of plug types. But no matter what type of plug, voltage in India is 230V, 50 Hz.
